Princess Pub & Grille
About This Spot
Stepping into Princess Pub & Grille feels like finding a familiar corner of a faraway neighborhood in the heart of San Diego’s Little Italy. There’s an easygoing warmth here, an honest and unpretentious buzz that invites both locals and travelers to settle in, relax, and savor the moment. Whether you're drawn by the lively energy during a Padres game or seeking a mellow spot to unwind at sunset, the pub’s rhythm gently adjusts to the crowd, making it a place where time slows just enough to linger over a pint or two.
The atmosphere carries the spirit of a classic British and Irish pub, grounded by dark wood accents and the subtle hum of conversations blending with occasional live music. It’s unhurried, yet lively—where friends cheer on sports, newcomers strike up chats at the bar, and the aroma of hearty, comforting dishes fills the air without ever overwhelming.
Food and drink here aren’t just served; they’re shared experiences. The iconic beer battered fish and chips earn their reputation subtly, with a perfectly crisp batter that speaks of tradition and attention. Alongside a pint of Guinness or a carefully poured craft cider, the menu offers moments that feel both familiar and thoughtfully crafted—from warm soups and sliders to rich stews and fresh, vibrant tacos reflecting the city’s coastal spirit. It’s the kind of place where the food and drink complement the story unfolding at every table, from weekend brunches to spirited sports nights.
Princess Pub & Grille invites guests to step in as strangers and leave feeling part of the neighborhood, eased by attentive service and a genuine, approachable vibe. It’s not just the taste of a steak and ale pie or the cheer after a winning play on the screen; it’s the warmth found in laughter, shared stories, and the comfortable pull of a welcoming pub that makes it a quietly special stop in San Diego.

Stopped by little Italy for a day trip in San Diego during lunchtime. We had a quick stop and break to eat, but we ended up spending three hours here. Drinks were really good and aren’t expensive. Pickled eggs were delicious. We also enjoyed potato wedges, and nachos. Beautiful spot to watch the sunset and hear the people play live music!

I’m from Britain and this was wonderful after being away for so long. Fullers ESB and Old Speckled Hen on tap. Two of my favourite beers. Steak and ale pie one day and a lamb Sunday roast the next. I cook a better Yorkshire pudding but the roast potatoes were very good. Beer was superb. Food was perfect. Sat outside. Service was attentive. Strongly recommend.

Great atmosphere and good food! Padres games are hype in here and you will see a lot of cheers and chants!

Great place. It's not often you fund yourself on little Italy and wind up at British pub. That said, the fish n chips were ok overall. The fish was over the top awesome. With the right amount of batter and a perfect cook. The chips were fine. I didn't order for the chips so no sweat for me, but ymmv.
